Dear Church Family,
Spring has arrived, and with it comes a renewed sense of life, hope, and anticipation. As flowers bloom and the days grow brighter, we are reminded once again that our God is a God of renewal—restoring, refreshing, and reviving His people in every season.
This year, that message of renewal carries special meaning for us at Woodward Avenue Baptist Church, as we celebrate a milestone that reflects God’s incredible faithfulness through generations: 80 years of gospel ministry in our community.
Celebrating 80 Years of Ministry
For eight decades, God has worked through the people of this church to share the hope of Jesus, raise up disciples, serve our neighbors, and make an eternal impact. We celebrate the legacy of those who came before us—and we look ahead with expectation for how God will continue to use us for His glory.
As we honor the past, we also step forward into a fresh season of mission and purpose. Let’s continue to build on the foundation of faith, unity, and love that has carried us this far.
Easter at the Park – Our 80th Birthday Celebration!
Sunday, April 13 at 4:00 PM (Gattman Park—Pavillion #1)
We are throwing a community-wide celebration and we want you and your neighbors to be a part of it! Join us at Gattman Park for a joyful afternoon of an egg hunt for the kids and a time of giving thanks to God for 80 incredible years.
This event isn’t just for our church family – it’s an opportunity to open our arms wide to the community and celebrate all that God has done and is doing. Make plans to come – and invite someone to come with you! Bring your friends, family, and neighbors as we celebrate together.
Easter Weekend Gatherings – Come and See!
As we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior, we want to make this Easter a time where our entire community feels welcomed and invited to experience the life-changing power of the gospel. Mark your calendars and bring someone with you to one of these meaningful gatherings:
Good Friday Service – April 18 at 6:00 PM – A reflective time of worship and remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice for us.
Easter Sunday Sunrise Service – April 20 at 6:00 AM – Gather with us in the WABC parking lot as the sun rises to celebrate the dawning hope of the resurrection.
Easter Sunday Worship – April 20 at 10:30 AM – Our main Easter celebration as we proclaim together: He is risen indeed!
This is a powerful time to invite your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and family members who may not have a church home. Let’s fill our gatherings with people who need to hear and experience the good news of Jesus Christ.
Let’s Keep Moving Forward Together
We are filled with gratitude for all God has done in these 80 years – but we believe the best is still to come. Let’s keep growing, serving, worshiping, and reaching out together in this new season of renewal.
“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” – Psalm 126:3
With love and expectation,
Pastor Tyler
