    March 2026

    Dear WABC Family,

We had a great time celebrating God’s great love for us at our Wacky Tacky Valentine’s party in February. As we look toward spring, our WABC kids are continuing to prepare a special song that they will share with the congregation on Palm Sunday.

Please make sure to mark your calendars to join us for our Easter in the Park event, which will be March 29th at 4:00 PM at Gattman Park. If you would like to help stuff eggs for this event, please join us on March 15th, from 3:00-5:00 PM in the Adult Education Building. . Make sure to invite your friends and neighbors to this community outreach event! This would be the perfect time for them to get to know our church family.

Finally, please be in prayer for how you can be a part of sowing seeds of the gospel in our “WABC Kids” lives. We have multiple areas open for volunteers. Specifically, I want to highlight our need for VBS volunteers and Sunday School teachers beginning August 2026—July 2027. If you would like to learn more about these volunteer opportunities, please reach out to me. I would love to share that information with you. Thank you to those of you who have already been serving and who have committed to serve whether in VBS, Sunday School or Wednesday nights—you are a blessing to us, and we are so grateful.

    Joyfully,

    Dear WABC Family,

n February, we can’t help but notice how love gets great commercial attention. This month in WABC KIDS we will be looking at how God’s love looks a whole lot different than the world’s version. On Wednesday February 4th, we’ll have a fun party where we not only get to enjoy fellowship together and talk about God’s great love, but we’ll get to have fun sharing God’s love and being on mission with Him while making homemade cards for our homebound members.

Moms and Dads, this is a great time of year to begin making family devotion time a regular habit in your family life. A suggestion that I have found helpful for making it a habit is to tie your devotion time to something you already do. For example, if you regularly sit down for dinner together, read with one another at the table. If you are always on the go, consider listening to scripture in the car. For young kids, The BIg PIcture Story Bible podcast or The Biggest Story podcast are great options for car rides. It is my prayer for you and your family that you will be faithful to be in God’s word together.

Mark your calendars for these upcoming WABC KIDS EVENTS:

February 4th, 6:00 PM, WACKY TACKY WEDNESDAY (Valentine’s Party and Mission Project)

    February 25th, Family Worship

    March 29th, Easter Egg Hunt

    June 1st-4th, 9:00-11:30 AM, VBS

    January 2026

    Dear WABC Family,

Happy 2026! We’ve had an exciting update to our WABC Kid’s Ministry area. Our walls had been in desperate need of new paint and we are so grateful for the provision of this. Thank you!

This month in our WABC Kids ministry, we will be diving back into our Wednesday night study of God as our Good Shepherd as well as continuing to commit Psalm 23 to memory. It is exciting to hear the kids grow more and more confident with this passage and we look forward to sharing it with you as a group in the near future. Kids Choir also resumes this month with our regular Wednesday night program.

In Sunday School, we are continuing our walk through the Bible with our Gospel Project curriculum. This month we will be in the book of Ezra. The kids will be learning about how God brought His people back from exile and how that points toward a time when all we who trust in Jesus will one day be gathered together in our true home in the new creation.

Please take time to mark your calendars for some of our upcoming 2026 WABC Kids events this year:

January 7th, 6:00 PM, WABC KIDS Wednesday Nights resume (PANCAKES AND PAJAMAS NIGHT)

    January 11th, 3:00 PM, 3rd-5th Grades Fellowship

    March 29th, Easter Egg Hunt

    June 1st-4th, 9:00-11:30 AM, VBS

    December 2025

    Dear WABC,

It has been a wonderful year and I am excited to see what God has in store for us in 2026. This semester our children have been working diligently on memorizing the books of the Bible and Psalm 23. We have continued to emphasize the significance of hiding God’s Word in our heart so that we will be able to recognize our Shepherd’s voice.

This month we will be focusing on Advent and learning about how Christmas isn’t just a time when we celebrate Jesus’ first coming, but it is also a time of remembering the Hope that we are given in the promise of His second coming when He will return to call all of His children home. There are Family Advent Guides with nativity stickers provided on the Welcome Counter for our families. We hope this will be an encouragement to you as you spend time with your family this season and prepare your hearts for celebrating Christmas together.

I also wanted to say a special thank you to all of our volunteers that have served so faithfully this year in WABC KIDS. We are so grateful for how you are loving our young families and seeking to point our children to Christ. Merry Christmas!

    Joyfully,
    Canaan Worley

    November 2025

    Dear WABC family,

It has been a great semester in WABC Kids. We have continued to learn the books of the Bible as well as committing Psalm 23 to memory. Our fall Wednesday Night WABC Kids program will wrap up on November 19th, with a night of “Friendsgiving” Fellowship. Sunday School and Children’s Church will continue as normal throughout the holiday season.

This month, our Crawlers Class is officially launching to make room for all the new babies that have been born in 2025. We are so excited to see all the new faces that are joining us and praising God for these little ones.

We are so thankful for each and everyone of you who are laying down your life to serve this next generation in our WABC Kids ministry. Each one of you is a great blessing to us.

    Joyfully,

    October 2025

    Dear WABC family,

Our fall semester is well underway in WABC kids. On Wednesday nights we are learning all about how God is our Good Shepherd and we are memorizing Psalm 23. Our kids are also enjoying the opportunity to be a part of Kids Choir led by Leah Bush & Georgia McCaig, where they are learning the songs that we sing in our corporate worship service. On Family Worship Sundays, each month our kids will join with the adult choir in leading worship. This is an incredible opportunity to disciple them as we raise them up to be worshippers of our great Savior. If your children are not already involved on Wednesday nights or a part of a Sunday School class, we would love for you to join us.

Later this month, we will have our Fall Festival outreach event on Sunday, October 26th, 4:00-6:00 PM. Please make plans to attend, and if you have not already signed up to help in some way, please consider how you might join with us to love on our community through this event. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out and let me know.

    Joyfully,
    Canaan Worley

    September 2025

    Dear WABC family,

We are so excited about our fall semester in WABC Kids. It is with great anticipation that we look forward to our Kids Choir starting on September 3rd. We are so thankful for this opportunity for our kids to take an active role in our corporate worship and for Leah Bush and her willingness to direct our kids.

I also want to extend a big “Thank You” for everyone who has stepped forward to help with our WABC kids Sunday School classes. We are grateful for the way that you are stepping forward to disci- ple our kids in this way. On that note, if you have a child, grandchild, friend, or a neighbor that you know isn’t already connected to Sunday school, we would love for you to connect them with a class. This is a fantastic way for them to be involved with age specific bible study and fellowship.

Finally, if you are not currently serving with WABC kids and are interested, we always have needs during our worship time on Sunday mornings. The more help we have, the more we can spread the load out. Thank you for prayerfully considering how you might serve our church body in this way.

    Joyfully,
    Canaan Worley

    August 2025

    Dear WABC family,

It is hard to believe summer is coming to an end and the new school year is here. What great memories we have made together this summer during all of our special events like VBS, Worship in the Park, Pool Party, Trash Pandas Game, and Ice Cream/Game Night. And what a joy and privilege it was to bring our kids to Earle Trent in July. We continue to pray for the seeds that were planted this summer to grow in the lives of our WABC kids.

Remember to mark your calendar for August 3rd, which is promotion Sunday. Our entering kindergarteners and entering 6th graders will be recognized during the morning worship service as they have reached these special milestones of entering and graduating from the WABC Kids department. We will also be recognizing our 4th and 5th graders as we will be transitioning this year to welcoming them in the service on a regular basis and tailoring our children’s church ages to Kindergarten through third grade.

On Wednesday September 3rd, we will kickoff our fall semester of WABC KIDS. Leah Bush will be leading our kids choir beginning at 6:00 PM, and we will have a time of Bible study and activities directly following. We are looking forward to a year of growth in knowing our Heavenly Father through His Word and fellowshipping with one another.

Our WABC Kids ministry is growing, and in the next several months we will begin developing a “Crawlers” class to make room for our youngest bed babies. We will continue to need a growing rotation of helpers during worship to serve these little ones. Please let me know if you are able to help.

    Joyfully,
    Canaan Worley

    July 2025

    Dear WABC family,

We had such a fantastic week of VBS this year. Thank you so much to each and everyone of you that worked so hard to make it happen and for investing in our children and community. We have connected with several families through our VBS outreach and have had gospel conversations with a couple of kids that attended. Please pray that God will continue to work in these children’s lives and their families.

In July, WABC kids will be partnering with First Baptist Killen and taking our upper elementary students to Kids Camp at Earle Trent. Please be praying that our group will grow in their walk with Christ and enjoy time fellowshipping together in God’s beautiful creation.

Please make plans to join us for the following church-wide events:

    • July 16th—Family Pool Night @ Royal Avenue Pool (6:00-8:00 PM)
    • July 23rd—Homemade Ice Cream & Game Night in the Activities Building (6:00-8:00 PM)
    • July 30th—Trash Pandas Game (Sign up by July 1st)

This Fall, beginning in August, we will be tailoring our Children’s Church time to our K-3rd graders and inviting our 4th and 5th graders to stay in our corporate worship service. We will continue to have Sunday School at 9:15 for all ages and want to encourage all of our WABC kids to attend with their families.

Our Fall semester of Wednesday WABC KIDS will kick-off, September 3rd. We will have a kids choir as well as a time of Bible study and fun activities designed to reinforce Bible lessons and Bible verse memorization. We are looking forward to a great year of growing in God’s Word together.

If you are interested in volunteering in our Nursery, Preschool or Elementary classes during our Sunday or Wednesday ministries, please let me know.

    Joyfully,
    Canaan Worley

    May 2025

    Dear WABC family,

At the time of my writing this, guess what is only 6 weeks 3 hours and 55 minutes away? No…. don’t worry. It isn’t Christmas. It’s VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL! This year’s theme is “Magnified: Discovering the Bigness of God is the Smallest of Things.” Our memory verse will be “Proclaim the Lord’s Greatness with Me; Let us exalt his name together.” Psalm 34:3

Will you begin to pray for our VBS week that God will bless the work of our hands and make it a fruitful week of ministry for our church? Also, if you would like to serve at VBS, please let me know. This year we will have a prayer team as part of our volunteer crew that will be taking some dedicated time each night to pray for our children and teachers. Don’t forget to invite your neighbors and friends to VBS as well.

    With a grateful heart,

    Canaan Worley
