June at Woodward Avenue Baptist Church: A Summer Full of Discipleship, Family, and Fun

Summer is here, and June is shaping up to be an exciting month in the life of Woodward Avenue Baptist Church. As we step into this season together, we are thankful for every opportunity to gather, grow, and point families to Jesus Christ.

This month is packed with opportunities for children, students, and families to engage in community and deepen their faith together. We hope you’ll make plans to join us throughout the month!

Vacation Bible School
June 1st–4th, 9:00 – 11:30 AM
We are thrilled to kick off the summer with VBS! This is always one of the highlights of the year as children fill our campus learning about Jesus, worshipping together, playing games, and building friendships.

Please be praying for:

  • Every child who attends
  • Families who will be connected to our church
  • Our volunteers and leaders
  • Gospel conversations that will take place throughout the week

Thank you to everyone who has worked hard to prepare for this incredible week of ministry. We cannot wait to see what God will do through VBS this year!

Family Ministry Events

One of our greatest joys as a church family is creating opportunities for families to spend intentional time together and build meaningful relationships within the church. We are excited about several family events happening this month:

Bowling Night -June 11th
Grab the family and join us for a fun evening of bowling, laughter, and fellowship together!

Family Pool Night at Royal Avenue-June 17th
Cool off with us at the pool as we enjoy an evening together as church family. This is a great opportunity to invite friends and neighbors to connect with our church in a relaxed setting.

Splash Pad Night at Gattman Park-June 24th
Bring the kids and join us for a fun night at the splash pad! We are looking forward to another great evening of fellowship and family fun.

Be Praying for Our Camps
June is also a big month for our Kids Ministry and Student Ministry as many of our young people head off to camp. Camps are often some of the most spiritually impactful moments in the lives of students and children.

Please join us in praying:

  • For salvation and spiritual growth
  • For safety in travel and activities
  • For leaders and volunteers serving at camp
  • For lasting fruit from the teaching of God’s Word

We are thankful for the investment being made into the next generation and excited to see how the Lord works through these weeks away.

Looking Ahead

As we move into summer, we encourage every member of our church family to stay connected, stay engaged, and continue walking together in discipleship. Whether through worship, Sunday School, family events, or ministry opportunities, there is a place for everyone to belong and grow.

We are grateful for you and thankful for the way God continues to work through our church family. Let’s make this a summer centered on Christ, community, and mission together.
